Breathwork facilitator, coach, retreat leader, speaker, writer, former television director, longtime spiritual seeker, recovering good girl, tattoo shop co-owner, mom, and professional questioner of anything that starts smelling too much like bullshit.

My work is about helping women come back to what is actually true for them.

Because I know what it’s like to build an identity, become really good at living inside it, and eventually realize it no longer fits.

I'm Meg pearson

I’VE LIVED A FEW LIVES...

And if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that who we are is not nearly as fixed as we like to pretend.

In my twenties, I was directing major television shows and working in live broadcast, where I learned how to think fast, hold a room, make a decision and keep things moving when everything around me was going sideways.

Years later, I would leave television entirely, move to Costa Rica and spend the next decade inside yoga, food, wellness, entrepreneurship, retreats, plant medicine and breathwork.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN PARTICULARLY GOOD AT STAYING IN ONE LANE.

So yes, my résumé is a little weird.
That’s kind of the point.

I struggled with bulimia for years. Once, during a purge, I accidentally swallowed a spatula and nearly suffocated.

That is an absurd sentence to write. It is also true.

I experienced sexual trauma young, including being molested by an older boy on my school bus, and there are other experiences I still sometimes have to take a breath before naming.

I started drinking heavily in my late teens and and was a highly functioning drunk by college. I finally got sober at 37 after working with the African plant medicine iboga.

That experience changed the trajectory of my life. Not because I believe one plant is the answer for everyone.  Because it helped interrupt a cycle I had not been able to interrupt on my own.

MY LIFE HAS ALSO BEEN MESSY AS HELL.

the truth is,

I spent close to 8 years working inside a major plant medicine retreat environment. I’ve witnessed extraordinary transformation, spiritual beauty, deep connection, ego, hierarchy, manipulation, contradiction and harm.

All of that shaped me.

It also made me much less interested in pretending that something is good simply because we call it sacred.

I still believe deeply in spirituality.
I also believe discernment matters.

A lot.

I have sat in more than 100 plant medicine ceremonies.

I HAVE SPENT A LOT OF TIME IN ALTERED STATES AND A LOT OF TIME QUESTIONING WHAT THEY ACTUALLY MEAN.

I’ve also experienced four pregnancy losses.

Those experiences changed my relationship with grief, motherhood, time and the stories women are told about how life is “supposed” to unfold.

I’ve been engaged twice and legally married once. I’m also spiritually married to my life partner, Levi; at the end of an all-night ayahuasca ceremony in 2023, we got hitched in a (obviously) unconventional way.

Very on-brand, I know.

Levi is a tattoo artist and psychedelic painter, and somewhere along the way I pulled him deeper into this strange little world of mine.

Now we own a tattoo shop together, I have more tattoos than I can count without concentrating, and our household is equal parts art studio, family chaos and ongoing existential conversation.

I became a mother at 38 and again at 41.

LOVE, FAMILY AND THE PARTS OF LIFE THAT REFUSE TO FOLLOW A CLEAN TIMELINE.

I speak Spanish and lived in Costa Rica for a decade, where both of my children are citizens.

I’ve travelled through the United States, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, France, England, Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Portugal and plenty of other places along the way.

Travel has taught me a lot.

Mostly that the world is enormous, people are complicated and there is almost always more than one way to live a life.

My mom was born in the Netherlands, and I grew up with a curiosity about people, culture and what life looks like outside your own little bubble.

I’VE ALWAYS BEEN A LITTLE OBSESSED WITH THE WORLD.

I’ve changed countries, careers, communities, identities and belief systems more than once.

I’ve rebuilt my life after addiction.

I’ve figure skated over my own finger.

I’ve built businesses. For myself and with others.

I’ve run kitchens as head chef & in my own catering company. I also owned a bakery.

I’ve directed live television.

I’ve sat in countless jungle ceremonies all night.

Gene Simmons from KISS once gave me a massage at work.

I once walked on fire at a Tony Robbins event.

I HAVE ALSO DONE SOME RIDICULOUS (and cool) SHIT:

Sometimes telling the truth means leaving the room, the job, the relationship, the identity or the belief system.

Integrity occasionally costs something.

3

Your relationships, work, identity and choices should reflect who you are now, not who you had to become to survive or belong.

The outside should match the inside.

2

Even about things you once believed with your whole heart.

You are allowed to change your mind.

1

I believe

Joy counts. Pleasure counts. Fun counts. Living counts.

Healing is not the entire point of being alive.

6

You can understand your patterns intellectually and still keep repeating them.

The body has to come with us.

5

Anger, grief, contradiction, boundaries and hard conversations are not spiritual failures.

Spirituality should make us more human, not less.

4

I facilitate breathwork, coach women through reinvention, speak and teach, collaborate on retreats and events, write books, record podcasts, build businesses, do web design for coaches, healers, and crystal dealers, and continue questioning almost everything.

I still believe in the woo.

I just like my woo with discernment, accountability and a functioning bullshit detector.

And after all the lives I’ve lived, the question I keep coming back to is still the simplest one:

Is this actually true for me?

That question has changed my life more than once.

Maybe it changes yours too.

I live in Ontario with Levi and our family.

THESE DAYS…
